Pay per Click (PPC) Advertising

Advertising using Pay per Click (PPC) provides instant traffic to your web page. There are a few steps in doing PPC advertising.

Keywords

You bid on keywords, which you think people will use as they search for tinnitus cures. To research what people are clicking on there are good free tools that you can use. Some are:

It is the keywords that you us,e that will determine whether your PPC ad will be displayed.

Ads

You ads will consist of the following parts:

  • Headline – This is very important as it has 2 important factors. (1) if you include your keyword in the headline it will be displayed more often (2) to catch the eye of the person, as distinct from the other ads
  • Description Line– There are 2 lines for description, it is important to describe a benefit on the 1st line and a feature or offer on the 2nd line.
  • Display URL– People will see this as your website link
  • Destination URL– Not displayed to people, used for tracking link if you want and will be the actual page that people will land on your website.

I recommend Perry Marshall’s Ultimate Guide to Google Adwords book (I got mine from Amazon). The principles in this book does apply to any search engine.

Search Engines

The top 3 search engines are:

  • Google
  • Yahoo
  • Bing

Google is by far the biggest with about 65% of the market.

Other search engines for PPC are:

  • 7Search
  • Miva
  • Looksmart
  • Findit
  • Kanoodle
  • Findology
  • Searchfeed
  • ABCSearch

It is important that you use your website or blog to send people to before redirecting them to the Tinnitus: Pathway to Cure sales page. This is because you will get more conversions that way because you have involved the customer in gaining more information before they access a sales page. This is what pre-selling is all about, having customers ready to buy when they hit the sales page. A PPC ad on a search engine does not have them ready to buy at that stage. Another reason is that Google now they discourage, stop and penalise for direct linking for affiliates. They do this by only allowing one ad to show per search term for each specific website.

As stated in the above paragraph, in order to get around this, create your own custom landing page that pre-sells the program and links to my website. This will ensure that your ads will show up every time someone searches for your keywords, rather than having to wait in line against other affiliates who are searching for the same terms.
